Horse Care

Allergies  our worst nightmare ,

You have tried everything to get them under control.  Are you looking for something Natural to try.   Natural Horse  Products may be just what your horse needs.  The Natural Horse Vet  has a full line of products for the nutritional health of  your horse.  Summertime is here, the flies, the mosquitoes and for most of us last years allergy  problems are back.

We have been caring for horses  for over 25 years.  You name it we have tried it.   Our goal, is to  help you find the best natural  products available for your horse.   The Natural Products   we have started  using this year, have made an amazing difference in our horses  overall Health.

Nutrition is critical.  The best way to prevent or treat any disease, not just allergies,  is to look at what the horse's body is getting too much or not enough of.   I don't know anyone who doesn't try there very best to get their horses what they need.  It can be confusing!  What do you feed?  What do you supplement?  The list goes on and on.  It makes us feel like we need a Ph.D in nutrition.  Truly its not that difficult.  Get back to the basics...and leave the rest to nature!
For instance, horses in general don't get enough fat and get far too much sugar from sweet feed and corn.  Essential fatty acids are a must in horses with allergy's.  The Natural  Horse Vet has products to help get your horse back on track.  We need to be careful with flax and rice bran they are more likely to go rancid.  Vegetable oil and corn oil are practically useless except for calories, of which most horses  get too much of anyway.

A "complete feed" or even oats alone simply cannot provide what a horse  with allergies needs.  For example, take two 1000 lb horses - one horse eats ten pounds per day  the other three pounds per day.  The latter will get less vitamins and minerals than the horse that gets ten pounds per day.  Easy keepers often get far less nutrients than they need.
This perpetuates the  problem even more.  The horse's whole metabolism is adversely affected.  They are stressed metabolically and they eventually wind up as insulin resistant, hypothyoridm laminitic, or cushinoid, and in some cases have such a messed up immune system, they develop allergies , all because they were not getting enough vitamins or minerals.
